Acorns charity day
Every Christmas time here at North Street Dental we raise money for a local charity to help support the good work that goes on in our local area.
This year we have been raising money for the Acorns Children’s Hospice. Many of our staff have been touched by the recent publicity the charity has received on TV programmes such as ITV’s Pride of Britain Awards. They care for life limited and life threatened babies, children and young people and their families, across the heart of England. The charity has 3 hospices in Birmingham, Worcester and Walsall and so is local to our Dudley practice.
To raise money, we decided to hold a raffle with all proceeds of tickets sold being donated to the charity alongside any other donations received. Prizes for the raffle included an M&S Hamper, a bottle of wine, chocolates, a Yankee candle plus many more gifts donated by staff and patients.
On Monday 18th December we held our raffle draw. During the day, the staff all wore Acorns Charity t-shirts and festive headwear to help raise awareness and money to add to the pot. Cakes and mince pies were also at reception for patients to enjoy and give donations towards.
Practice Principal Steven also donated £20 he won during a Practice Plan event at the Birmingham Dental Showcase a few months ago.
We had a brilliant day and hope to have raised a good sum of money to support the fantastic work of Acorns. Keep an eye on our Facebook page to find out how much we managed to raise.
