Virtual charity walk for Macmillan Cancer Support
Over the past few months our team set themselves a big challenge in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
We travelled the same distance as Land’s End to John O’ Groats, which is a total of 874 miles, either by walking, jogging, running or cycling in our local areas.
A great cause
Macmillan Cancer Support do fantastic work offering people with cancer emotional, physical and financial support from the moment they are diagnosed. We know that although many aspects of our lives have slowed down over the last year, Cancer has not.
If you would like to find out more about the work that Macmillan do then please check out their website.
Not only are we raising money for this incredible charity, but it is also encouraging us as staff to get moving. As many of you know, Lockdown has taken its toll on many people’s mental health but getting out and about in the fresh air is a great way to keep ourselves healthy both physically and mentally.
Maybe we will encourage you to do a few miles too…
We are looking to raise £1,148, which is currently the amount needed to provide the support of a Macmillan Nurse for a family or individual for 1 week. The support that is provided is vital for the patient and their journey through a difficult time.
Have a look at our progress postcards as we progressed up the length of the country towards John O’ Groats.
