Hand rejuvenation treatment overview

A treatment growing in popularity here at Rejuvenate North Street is helping you regain your youthful hands with the help of dermal fillers. The dermal fillers we use are natural proteins called HA, which the skin itself is made up of. Therefore by topping up the HA content, we increase your hand’s volume and fullness. HA is an excellent choice as it helps to lock in moisture resulting in hands looking more youthful.

Our treatment involves using a special blunt ended cannula, allowing us to sculpt your hands to the appearance you always wanted.

The process of recapturing a more youthful you starts with a free consultation. Here we chat to discover what type of result you wish to achieve. The procedure itself can take anywhere from 15-30 mins depending on how much filler you require.

We use the Juvederm range (such as Hydrate or Volite). This has an anaesthetic built-in to make treatments as comfortable as possible. Typically you will feel an initial pinch with the first injection, then as the anaesthetic gets to work, you gradually feel less and less.

Dermal fillers last from 4-9 months and then are naturally broken down. As a result, they need to be topped up to maintain the profile we achieve together.

Dr Joe explains hand rejuvenation treatment

What is hand rejuvenation?

As we grow older, hands can often lose volume. Consequently, this leads to a more pronounced bony profile that can betray our age. Here at Rejuvenate at North Street, we use hydrating dermal fillers to restore volume and boost your skin quality. The dermal fillers are much finer and softer than those used in the face and lips, resulting in a beautiful silky finish with flawless results.

How long do the effects of hand rejuvenation last?

The effects of hand rejuvenating filler are temporary, lasting between 4-18 months. For most patients, the average results are between 6-9 months.

How quickly do you see the effects of the treatment?

Your results are instantaneous in terms of fullness and volume. The hydrating benefits from HA fillers can take 3 weeks to gain full effectiveness. HA fillers can lock in up to 1000 times their weight of water within the skin they are placed. This leads to improvements to your skin quality over time.

Does it hurt to have hand rejuvenation treatment?

At Rejuvenate at North Street, we use a special blunt ended cannula to treat your hands. As a result, only a single injection is needed for each hand. Therefore the treatment is very comfortable. Combined with a pre-anaesthetic, filler containing anaesthetic and a vibration distraction device we put your comfort first.

How much does it cost for hand rejuvenation treatment?

Hand rejuvenation treatment costs are dependent on the volume of filler we use:

Medium £395
Extensive £495

Aftercare instructions

Immediately after your treatment, there may be slight redness, swelling, tenderness and an itching sensation in the treated area. This is a typical result of the injection. The inconvenience is temporary and generally disappears in a few days.

  • Apply an ice pack to the treated area. This will help reduce any initial swelling.
  • Avoid touching the treated area for 6 hours following the treatment.
  • Avoid washing the area with soap and water for 6 hours.
  • Until the initial swelling and redness have resolved, do not expose the treated area to intense heat (e.g. solarium and sunbathing) or extreme cold.
  • Avoid applying makeup to the area for 6 hours. After this, light makeup can be used, and the area can be gently washed with soap and water.
  • Avoid laser treatment, chemical peels or similar procedures as they may elicit an inflammatory reaction.
  • If you are taking aspirin, anticoagulant therapy, or any similar medication, these may increase the bruising and bleeding at the injection site.
  • For any concerns at all, please contact the practice. We are on North Street, Dudley, West Midlands. Full details on our contact page.
