Facial re-contouring (chin/cheekbone/jawline)
Facial re-contouring treatment overview
A popular treatment here at Rejuvenate at North Street is helping people regain their youthful face with dermal fillers. The dermal fillers we use here are naturally occurring proteins called hyaluronic acid (HA), which your skin and lips are made from. By topping up the HA content, you increase the faces volume and fullness. HA helps to lock in moisture and keep the face looking youthful and dewy.
The facial re-contouring procedure involves the use of a special blunt ended cannula which allows us to sculpt the cheekbones to the size, shape and form you always wanted. At Rejuvenate we pride ourselves in enhancing your natural face shape and form to give you a result that your friends and family recognise as you… just the best version of you.
The process of recapturing a more youthful you starts with a free consultation where we chat to discover what type of result you want to craft for yourself. The procedure itself takes anywhere from 15-45 minutes, depending on how much filler is required and how many areas you want to be treated. We use the Juvederm range (such as Volift and Voluma) which has an anaesthetic built-in to make the treatment as comfortable as possible. Typically you will feel an initial pinch as the first injection helps make a face full and beautiful, then as the anaesthetic gets to work, you gradually feel less and less.
Dr Joe explains facial re-contouring treatment
What is facial re-contouring?
With contouring makeup at its most popular more and more people want to emulate the chiselled features of celebrities they see on TV and in magazines. However, to achieve this look with makeup can take hours each morning.
If you would like an option that leaves you looking contoured all day and night without the effort, then its time to consider facial re-contouring with dermal filler.
What are chin/cheekbone/jawline fillers?
Our dermal fillers are made from a naturally occurring protein found in the skin and lips called hyaluronic acid (HA). This is used to plump areas of your face to help improve the fullness and give extra definition.
How long does the effect of chin/cheekbone/jawline filler last?
Chin/cheekbone/jawline filler effects are temporary lasting between 6-18 months, with an average of 9 months for most patients.
When do you see the effects of facial re-contouring?
The effects of fillers are instantaneous. However, the look and feel will improve over 3 weeks. HA is hydrophilic and will absorb 1000 times its weight in water. This helps to hydrate the skin and give a more soft and natural feel to the area.
Does it hurt to have chin/cheekbone/jawline filler injections?
We use a combination of pre-anaesthetic, filler containing anaesthetic and a vibration distraction device. This results in the most comfortable and relaxing treatment possible.
How much chin/cheekbone/jawline filler can I have in one session?
At Rejuvenate at North Street, we want to sculpt beautiful features safely and predictably. Consequently, we recommend no more than 1ml in any one area at a time. This allows placement of filler in precisely the area intended.
How much does it cost for chin/cheekbone/jawline Treatments?
Chin/cheekbone/jawline filler treatment costs are depending on the volume of filler used:
Mild from £295
Medium from £395
Extensive from £495
Extensive+ from £595
Aftercare instructions for facial re-contouring treatments
Immediately after treatment, there may be slight redness, swelling, tenderness and an itching sensation in the treated area. This is a typical result of the injection. The inconvenience is temporary and generally disappears in a few days.
- Apply an ice pack to the treated area. This will reduce any initial swelling.
- Avoid touching the treated area for 6 hours following treatment.
- Avoid washing the area with soap and water for 6 hours.
- Until the initial swelling and redness have resolved, do not expose the treated area to intense heat (e.g. solarium and sunbathing) or extreme cold.
- Avoid applying makeup to the area for 6 hours. After this, light makeup can be used, and the area can be gently washed with soap and water.
- Avoid laser treatment, chemical peels or similar procedures as they may elicit an inflammatory reaction.
- If you have previously suffered from cold sores, there is a risk that the needle punctures could contribute to another eruption of cold sores.
- If you are taking aspirin, anticoagulant therapy, or any similar medication, these may increase the bruising and bleeding at the injection site.
- For any concerns at all, please contact the practice. We are on North Street, Dudley, West Midlands. Full details on our contact page.
